Unni, I agree with you that Busquets plays a crucial role. He is a very intelligent footballer, breaks up play and keeps his passing neat and tidy. But don’t think he has anywhere near the range of passing that Guardiola had. Busquets is more of a front sweeper, while Guardiola played a far more proactive role; he was in many ways the lynchpin of that Barcelona team.

True, Xavi is the conductor but i think Busquets is the real hero in that team. He just sits back, destroy almost everything that the opposition creates and is unbelievably selfless. From my readings of the game, Busquets is the present day Guardiola and not Xavi.

They are an awesome team, they can go on like this for couple more years if they manage to hold on to all the players but teams like Arsenal and the not much heralded Rubin Kazan from Russia has posed problems for Barca. All the more, let us not forget Inter who put up a superb display of Catenaccio and opportunistic football to oust Barca in the semis last season.
